You don’t need to wait for the school to suggest it! 📄✏️ 2️⃣ Put It in Writing! Always submit requests in writing (email or letter) to ensure there’s a record of your communication. 📩 3️⃣ Stay Organized! Keep a dedicated folder with evaluations, medical records, and school communications to track your child’s progress. 📂✨
📌 Post 2: Preparing for the Evaluation & Meeting!4️⃣ Ask Questions! Don’t be afraid to ask for explanations of any test results or terms you don’t understand. Your voice matters! 🗣 5️⃣ Bring Support! You can bring a family member, advocate, or coach to your child’s IEP/IFSP meeting for extra support. 💙 6️⃣ Know Your Goals! Write down your main concerns and what support you’d like your child to receive before the meeting. 🎯
📌 Post 3: Advocating for Your Child’s Needs!7️⃣ Review Before Signing! You don’t have to sign the IEP/IFSP immediately—take it home, review it, and ask questions if needed. 📝 8️⃣ You Can Request Changes! If you feel the plan doesn’t meet your child’s needs, request a follow-up meeting to make adjustments. 🔄 9️⃣ Monitor Progress!
